No change in shootout standings

Low gross, low net leaders remain the same after second round of play at Glacier Greens

The forecast was for heavy rain and wind for day two of this year’s Glacier Greens men's club shootout. They were wrong about the rain, however the strong winds did show with the airport wind socks straight out for most of the day.

The format was a scramble with some good team scores turned in. Both the gross and net leaders held their positions.

James Dickson and Sheldon Theriault lead the gross side with a two-day total of 131. Next at 135 is the father and son team of Bob and Jeff Edwards followed by Don Buchan and Randy Robinson at 136. The team of Chuck Kennedy and Kevin Hunt share fourth spot with Rob Borland and Steve Peters at 138.

On the net side Ron Carter and Rick Verbeek continue to lead with a two day net score of 109.5 followed closely by Dave Buckley-Jones and Wayne Ogilvie at 110.5. Tied for third are the teams of Len Doyle and Gary Wood and Ken Doll and Roy Hagg at 113 and at 114 is Hugh Scoullar and Richard Wand and Jim Larocque and Stan Mills.

Team KPs went to Buchan and Robinson on #4, to Dickson and Theriault on #7 & #12, to Kennedy and Hunt #15 and to Judson Bettle and Bill Stephens on #17.

One team snip held up in the “A” flight and five in the “B” flight and are posted on the men’s board in the clubhouse.

June 23 will be the final day of this year's shootout and the format will be the dreaded alternate shot. "Better start practising how to say, 'Sorry, partner,'" said Glacier Greens Saturday Men's Club director Len Doyle.
