The Comox Valley United men’s soccer team was overpowered by a strong Vic West FC team at the GP Vanier Turf field on March 3.

Vic West ultimately won the match 5-0, knocking the Comox Valley side out in the quarterfinal round of the 2018 Jackson Cup.

The annual knockout soccer tournament is the oldest on Vancouver Island, having started in 1914.

The tournament is fashioned after the FA Cup in England, in which any senior men’s team is eligible to compete.
