Young basketball players in the Valley are participating in an Elite Girls Basketball Camp held at Mark R. Isfeld Secondary School this weekend. Students in grades 8 to 12 from the Valley, across the Island and from Powell River are participating in the camp.

The camp is put on by the Comox Valley Athletic Association with four high profile national and provincial level coaches from B.C. sharing their knowledge.

The camp’s high-performance coach, Leanne Evans, most recently coached the U15 Basketball BC provincial team who won gold at the 2018 National Championships. She also played on the Canadian national team for eight years and was the lead assistant coach at the University of Victoria for six.

Jenna Bugiardini, Jenna Krug and Aieisha Luyken, all very experienced coaches and players, are also coaching at the camp this weekend.
