Nine teams participated in the 2011 Memorial Darts Tournament at the Comox Legion Branch 160 on April 11.
Although there was a low turnout, a full day of darts was enjoyed by a boisterous group of players who played a two-game round robin, with the top eight advancing to the best-of-three knockout round.
The team of Terry Jackson, Ernie Linden, Daniel Leaman and a very capable Peter Greaves filling in for the absent Bill Durant, won for the third straight year.
Second place went to Art Forbes, John Broccolo, Jamie Elliot and Bill Footit. Dave Wilson, Bill Pimlott, Marc and Wayne Schultz of Campbell River placed third, while Gerard Slaunwhite, Don Parsons, Pam Waterfield and Kellie Watt took fourth.
Ladies high score went to Kellie Watt with a 126. Ladies high out with an unbelievable 36 was won by Leslie Lamouroux. Men’s high out went to Art Forbes with 59. Men’s high score of 140 was shared by too many to mention.
"Thanks go to Barb Waugh and her helper for the lunches," an event spokesperson said. "Hopefully next year we can get the numbers up again."
