The Teck Regional Dryland Training Camp, held at Miracle Beach Provincial Park in Black Creek, was a huge success.

Forty-nine athletes, nine coaches, and 12 volunteers from across Vancouver Island and Vancouver joined together, Sept. 29-Oct. 1, making it a truly regional camp and all that much more fun camping together.

Under mostly sunny skies, with the occasional period of rain, athletes showed they were up for the challenges of chilly morning activation runs, a roller ski time trial, roller ski sprints, agility courses, and group strength training. Evenings at the campfire, featuring story-telling and guitar playing, were a highlight.

The success of the camp was made possible by the efforts of a very fine cast of coaches and the many parent volunteers who were kept busy preparing meals and setting up and taking down camp. Many thanks to all those involved in another successful camp.
