The Run and Gun Basketball League for Grade 8 and 9 boys starts next week at GP Vanier Secondary.

The annual spring league is an important factor in developing youth players for next season, co-ordinator/coach Larry Street said.

Highland, Isfeld and Vanier each had rewarding seasons on the basketball court. The Run and Gun league plays an integral role in developing these programs.

Play starts on Tuesday, April 2 at Vanier. The first night starts at 7 p.m. when teams will be formed. League play then commences every Tuesday and Thursday until the end of May, for a total of up to 36 games. Each team plays two games each night.

Cost is $30. There is a small administrative cost and a team T-shirt is provided.

•Thunderball’s second sign-up night is Wednesday, April 3 at Vanier, in or near the gym from 6-8 p.m.

Thunderball is a Sunday mini-basketball league for Grade 4 to 7, boys and girls, starting Sunday, April 7.
