THERE WAS LOTS OF shooting going on during Steve Nash Skills Night for the Thunderball Basketball league.

 

 

 

Over 80 youngsters participated in Steve Nash Skills Night for Thunderball Basketball 2012 on May 9 at G.P. Vanier.

"It looked like all of them enjoyed the experience, as well as a hundred parents in the stands cheering them on," said

Thunderball spokesperson Larry Street.

There were seven events throughout the evening and each event was separated into four categories: Boys Grade 4/5, Girls Grade 4/5, Boys Grade 6/7 and Girls Grade 6/7.

Sixteen coaches were on hand to judge and monitor the events, with results as follows:

Speed Dribble Grade 4/5 Boys Pierre Oliver; Grade 4/5 Girls Amy Brucker; Grade 6/7 Boys Riley Meyerhoff; Grade 6/7 Girls Chloe Speed.

Weave Dribble Grade 4/5 Boys Cedar Lloyd; Grade 4/5 Girls Sara Martin; Grade 6/7 Boys Coen Leopkey; Grade 6/7 girls Chloe Speed/Rhianna Hamilton.

Wall Pass Grade 4/5 Boys Cedar Lloyd/Trenton Johnson; Grade 4/5 Girls Amy Brucker; Grade 6/7 Boys Coen Leopkey; Grade 6/7 Girls Danielle Robertson.

Free Throws Grade 4/5 Boys Pierre Oliver; Grade 4/5 Girls Sara Martin; Grade 6/7 Boys Kyle Piercy; Grade 6/7 Girls Liza Temple.

Speed Lay Ups Grade 4/5 Boys Pierre Oliver/Cedar Lloyd; Grade 4/5 Girls Jaimie Hatch; Grade 6/7 Boys Nathan Ruttan; Grade 6/7 Girls Chloe Speed.

Thunderball wraps up Sunday, May 27 at both the G.P. Vanier and Lake Trail gyms.
