Strathcona Nordics racer brings home gold

Tallon Noble leads local charge to podium; many post top 10 finishes at BC Cup #2

TALLON NOBLE PLACED placed first in recemt provincial Nordic ski racing.

 

 

 

 

 

The Strathcona Nordics team of 30 Junior and Masters racers, coaches, and support crew drove to Kelowna for the recent BC Cup #2 races. The team brought some medals back to Vancouver Island along with many top 10 finishes.

Head coach Dave Battison says, “We really stepped up our game and raced well. You could tell that the work we have done this past month has really paid off.”

In racing highlights, Tallon Noble brought home a gold medal for a first place finish in the Midget Boys 4km race. Marilyn Atkinson and Brian Stamp picked up several bronze for third place finishes in Masters racing.

Top 10 finishers over two days of racing include: Naomi Swift-5th, Stephen Lamon-6th and 7th, Tallon Noble-1st and 8th, Ross Lamon-6th and 10th, Avalon Wasteneys-7th and 9th, Morgan Meckert-10th, Ariel Becherer-4th and 5th, Marilyn Atkinson-3rd and 3rd, Patty Johnson-4th and 4th, Lynn Swift-5th and 6th, Alison Stocks-7th and 7th, Brian Stamp-3rd, Andy Brown-6th and 8th, Rick Morson-7th,  Jamie Wasteneys-6th and 6th, Alec Stapff-5th and 6th, Sheridan Meckert-8th, and Alex Brown-9th.
