Tickets on sale for wrestling fundraiser

Local grapplers Sgt. Kaos and Barry Goode part of big card at Feb. 16 show

Hometown heroes and well-known villains will be rocking the wrestling ring on Feb. 16 at the inaugural Slams For Sebastian Over The Top Rumble, set for Feb. 16 at the Komo'x First Nation band hall.

The event is a fundraiser for seven-month old Sebastian Cobban, who has spent four months of his young life in hospital due to a rare medical condition.

Tickets are now on sale at JetFM radio station or by phoning Keith 250-203-6476, Barry 250-703-1214 or Andrew 250-702-4492.

Barry Goode of the Comox Valley is scheduled to take on Disco Fury, one of the most colourful wrestlers in B.C. And taking his final bow in the squared ring will be another Comox Valley wrestler, Keith Spinks (aka Sgt. Kaos) who is also organizing the event.

Spinks, who is retiring due to numerous knee surgeries, is set to meet nemesis and former trainer Gorgeous Michelle Starr.

Starr and the Sarge have split their previous two meetings, and Kaos is determined to go out a winner in his final match.

The card is also set to feature the popular seven-foot Cremator from Port Alberni, the unpopular Scotty Mac, BJ Laredo, Scott Steel, Azeem the Dream, Lak Siddartha, the Krofton Kid and a ladies' match.

JetFM's Andrew Davis, who is Sebastian's great-uncle, will be a special guest referee at the February event.

All proceeds will help Sebastian's parents Amanda and Tyler with medical costs. Spinks has previously held a concert in Campbell River which raised about $2,000 for the couple, who are from the Valley but now live in Edmonton.
