What a great day for the 10th annual CVEX Track ‘n Trail Kids’ Fun Run on Saturday, Aug. 25.
With weather threatening, 39 participants had energy to spare, racing around the various courses to the cheers of enthusiastic on-lookers and supporters. Depending on their age, runners completed one of three routes ranging from 500 metres to 1.5 kilometres.
Congratulations to all who took part in this unique event co-organized by the Comox Valley Exhibition and the Comox Valley Road Runners.
Our first-place girl and boy in each category were as follows:
Marshmallows: Heidi Stubbs and Ryder Logan;
Chicklets: Evalyn Stubbs and Jesse Tran; and
Truffles: Mackenzie Brookshaw and Everett Burch.
All runners crossed the finish line to receive ribbons and prizes.
This run would not be what it is without the help of some generous local businesses. A big ‘thank-you’ to the CVEX, Comox Valley RV, CVRR, Jim Smiley at Re/Max Ocean Pacific Realty, Comox Valley Regional District, Extreme Runners, Simon’s Cycles, Fit-Fore-You, and the Town of Comox parks and field department.
