Two teams turn triple plays in Comox Valley Mixed Slo-Pitch League

 

 

 

The Mariners continue to roll in Comox Valley Mixed Slo-Pitch League Tier 1 play. Last week they knocked off Billy D's Benchwarmers 14-8.

The Benchwarmers were 20-8 winners over the Heaters and the Sunlife Slammers also crushed the Heaters 18-5. In a great defensive game, the Banner Landscaping Brewers doubled the Whistle Stop Madness 4-2.

In Tier 2, the Romance Shop Master Batters fell out of the unbeaten ranks, losing 18-17 to the Zoom Zooms. The Batters stopped Applesauced 15-6.

Courtenay Kia turned a triple play against the Peanut Gallery, rallying from eight runs down to win 14-13. The Peanuts also turned a triple play in their 15-7 win over the Wrecks.

Zoom Zooms beat the Wankees 12-8. Courtenay outscored Berards Plumbing 21-16. The Wrecks recorded their first win of the sesson, 13-5 over Applesauced.

In a battle of unbeaten teams in Tier 3, the Elks Zombies knocked off Mission Possible Shockers 21-12 to take sole possession of first place. The Zombies were 15-5 winners over First Insurance First Timers.

Daryl Eldstrom was part of three double plays and Jamie Eldstrom and Mike Espey were 3-for-3 on their bats as the First Timers took down Chances 17-12.

The Shockers oulasted Chances 18-15. The Wild had a good week, knocking off previously undefeated Fishers Island Adventures 18-10. In a close game, the Wild squeaked out a 15-13 win over the Komox Grind.

The Dirty Birds continued their winning ways, stopping Blue Thunder 15-9 and dropping the Islanders 17-11 to lead Tier 4. Coco Locos were 15-5 winners over the winless Pacers and played the Fisherman's Lodge CR Pawn Boomers to a 9-9 draw. The Boomers just got by Merit Home Furniture Cruisers 14-13. Blue Thunder doubled Billy D's Dodgers 14-7.

In Tier 5, A+ Fireballers ran their record to 5-0 as they swept a doubleheader 17-6 over Alano A's and 12-8 against the Slippery Kittens. The Swingers got into the win column with a  12-8 decision over Major Malfunctions. The T-Birds were 18-17 winners over Alano while the Slippery Kittens nipped the Calm Batters 16-15.
