Valley skaters shine at regionals

Victoria Frowen

While the world was watching the Olympics, Comox Valley skaters were picking up medals at the Vancouver Island Regional Figure Skating Championships.

Zach Wood and Brayden Wentz, competing in their first ever event, each won gold in the STAR One category. Addison Lafortune also picked up gold in STAR One. Sonya Ederle and Cleo Dawson, competing in STAR Two, and Victoria Frowen competing in STAR 10, each picked up bronze in their respective categories.

You can see these and other Comox Valley skaters, along with Elvis Stojko and Galdys Orozco, on Saturday, March 17 in the Comox Valley Skating Club production, One More Time, with Elvis Stojko.

A Meet and Greet with Stojko and Orozco is happening Friday at the Black Fin Pub in Comox. Tickets are $15.
