William Gee, aka Whistlin’ Will, has won a world championship.

The 16-year-old, home-schooled Comox Valley resident came out on top in the junior boys division at the Cowboy Action world championships, hosted by the Single Action Shooting Society last month in Phoenix, Arizona.

The competition measures proficiency with three different firearms: handgun, rifle and shotgun.

Whistlin’ Will is a member of the Valley Regulators. The club’s Boomtown is on the site of the Fish and Game Club.
