Women's fastball league wraps up

Hornby/Denman Freight wins league title, TULS takes playoff championship

 

 

 

The Comox Valley Women's Fastball League wrapped up its 2012 season in late June.

The final league standings had Hornby/Denman Freight in first with Cougars second, Slingerz third and TULS fourth. In the playoffs, TULS captured top spot with Cougars second, Slingerz third and HDF fourth.

Tara Lawlor-Chaisson nominees for the player from each team who exemplifies the dedication, skill and sportsmanship of the game: HDF - Michelle Haider; TULS - Shannon Goebel; Slingerz - Zeta Fleming; Cougars - Ness Kovac. The overall winners was Zetz from Slingerz.

The Roberta Williams Coach of the Year was Don Guilbeault from the TULS. The Kathy De Crane Most Sportsmanlike Team was HDF. The Harry Lavoie Builders Award for anyone who exemplifies dedication and interest and love of the game went to Adrienne Elliott.
