HARD WORK HAS paid off for Dustin Lucas and Meghan Taylor of the Comox Valley Skate Club.

The Comox Valley Skate Club says it is very proud of skaters Dustin Lucas and Meghan Taylor for achieving their Gold Feet Awards, the highest standard in the skating discipline.

Taylor is 15 years old and in Grade 9 at Mark Isfeld Secondary School. She started skating with the Terrace Skate Club at three years old and has skated with the Comox Valley Skate Club since she was six. Taylor passed her Gold Skills and her Gold Freeskate this spring. She is now skating in Novice and continually working to get that next jump.

Lucas is almost 16 and a newcomer in the skating world. In his four years on the ice so far he has achieved one of the highest recognitions, his Gold Feet in Skills. Lucas is competing in Pre-Novice Men's and can be found perfecting his skill jumping on the ice as often as he can.

Taylor and Lucas thank their parents for their continued support and encouragement, their coaches Dawn and Greg Ladret for their training, and all of thier coaches over the years for  their contributions in helping them achieve this level.
