Everything is buried under a sea of white. When you step back and take a good look at the scene around Mount Washington it becomes obvious, the mountain has seen a lot of snow this winter. Correction, Mount Washington has seen absurd amounts of snow this winter.

In its 28th season, the popular Comox Valley Tri-K Triathlon welcomes a new title sponsor. "The team at Shoreline Orthodontics is happy to be joining the annual event," an event spokesperson said after event chair Rick Gibson made the announcement late last week.

The annual Comox Valley half Marathon, set to run this Sunday At 11 a.m. from the Florence Filberg Centre, is going to have some very fast company this year.

sdgolf It's time to shine the golf clubs and try swing once again. The Sunnydale Tuesday 18-hole ladies start March 29. The sign-up sheet will be in the hallway in the usual place. Tee off time is 9 a.m.; golfers are asked to be at the club by 8:30 a.m. On April 10 everyone is welcome to official opening day with an 18-hole scramble at 1 p.m. (arrive by 12:30 p.m.). Also sign up before spring meeting to follow with dinner after. Ben is doing a Greek-inspired dinner which will cost $17.
