Serious Coffee serious about supporting Tour de Rock

It can be said that most of us, if not all of us have been affected by cancer in one way or another.

It can be said that most of us, if not all of us have been affected by cancer in one way or another.

That is why Vancouver Island’s Serious Coffee has embarked on an Island-wide fundraising effort to support the Canadian Cancer Society and Cops for Cancer’s Tour de Rock.

Until Oct. 5, all 26 Serious Coffee locations have been paired with Tour de Rock riders as part of the Tour de Rock Bean Drive to help the 18 riders reach their individual fundraising goals.

For every 300g customized rider edition bag of Coal Miners (dark roast) or Three Amigos (medium) sold, Serious Coffee will donate $1 to help fight cancer.

Do you have a favourite rider participating in this event? Check www.seriouscoffee.com to see which café is paired with your rider.  Then visit that Serious Coffee location to purchase your Limited Rider Edition 300g bag of coffee, which is labelled with a picture of the rider.

David thompson, a 19 Wing military policeman, is paired with Serious coffee locations in Courtenay and Campbell River.

From Sept. 22 to Oct. 5, the Canadian Cancer Society Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock Team will travel over 1000 km from the north to the south end of the island, engaging with many communities along the way.

These police, military police men and women  and media riders will inspire an entire region to give courageously and make a direct impact on pediatric cancer research and child and family support services like Camp Goodtimes that are made possible by the Canadian Cancer Society.

Serious Coffee owners are actively involved in their communities and have contributed to numerous fundraising efforts over the past 17 years.

Watch for local fundraising events being planned by your local café as a way to further support the efforts of the participants in the Tour de Rock.
