Emma Oddleifson, a student at Vanier Secondary, has won The Keg Spirit Foundation Next Generation Leaders Forum Award, Junior Achievement of British Columbia (JABC) announced.

The award was presented last week at the Celebrate JA! event at Highland Pacific Golf Course in Victoria. Along with five other students chosen in B.C., Oddleifson will travel to Saint Mary’s University Sobey School of Business in Halifax, N.S. in August to join 200 of the highest potential youth from around the world at this business and leadership forum hosted by Junior Achievement of Canada.

Oddleifson participated in the JA Titan program. In January she attended the BC Business Challenge hosted by JA of BC where her team placed second in the Titan Marketplace category.

She is consistently the top business student of her class and achieved top marks in all assignments. After high school, Oddleifson plans to attend university to study both obstetrics and gynecology, two surgical-medical specialties. She plans to work in a hospital, work in a clinic, and ultimately open her own clinic.

She volunteers as a candy striper at St. Joseph’s hospital.
