This year the Comox Valley Exhibition has four exciting new events to offer over the three days of the fair: Cruisers Go Country, Friday Aug. 25; First Responder Saturday, August 26; Pure Wrestling Association, Saturday, Aug. 26, and the inaugural Island Bug Jam, Sunday Aug. 27.
Cruisers Go Country is a great opportunity for collectors to display their vehicles and have fun meeting other enthusiasts and interested fair goers. This event will have a Viewer`s Choice Award with a $100 gift card prize. Entrants register on the day of the event, Friday Aug. 25 between 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. at the green gate entrance and the show will run from noon to 4 p.m.
First Responder Saturday, Aug. 26, is an opportunity for the public to meet the extraordinary people who keep our community safe and secure, to learn firsthand what it is like to have a career in emergency services, and to see up- close emergency vehicles and equipment. It is an opportunity for First Responders to educate, connect, promote their organization, and recruit in a relaxed environment. CVEX welcomes all First Responder organizations and encourage you to participate in this unique event.
Also on Saturday, we are pleased to announce that Pure Wrestling Association will be joining us to bring live professional wrestling to CVEX for your entertainment. This fun and exciting event can be seen at 11a.m. and 5 p.m.
Island Bug Jam, Sunday, Aug. 27, is open to all Volkswagens of all types and vintages, and the more the merrier as there is still room for entrants to join in this fun event. As a collector, participating offers a chance to meet with other enthusiasts, exchange knowledge and information, showcase your club, display memorabilia, and meet the public to educate and inspire future collectors. There will be four awarded categories including Best Bug, Best Bus, Coolest Ride, and Kim`s Pick chosen by CVEX`s resident collector car expert. The entrance fee is $20 which includes a $5 food voucher, entrance to the fair, and a dash plaque. This is our very first Island Bug Jam, so bring your vehicles and your enthusiasm to make this event a great success that will continue for years to come.
