Canada Day celebrations in Courtenay are just around the corner and preparations are underway.

Applications to participate in the July 1 parade and for vendors are now available at courtenay.ca/canadaday or in person at the Florence Filberg Centre (411 Anderton Avenue).

The theme of this year’s festivities is Canadian Threads: the colourful costumes of Canada. The Canada Day committee encourages parade participants to design parade entries with colourful costumes in mind.

Canada Day celebrations attract about 10,000 people to the parade and to the July 1 events in Lewis and Simms Parks. New this year, vendors will have the opportunity to sell their items at the Night Before Concert on June 30, as well as on July 1, for the same low price.
