Start your holidays off filled with fun at the Lewis Centre at the annual children’s Christmas Party on Saturday, Dec. 1.

Courtenay Recreation staff are as busy as Santa’s elves preparing for the party, for children nine and under accompanied by an adult.

This holiday event starts at 2 p.m. at the Lewis Centre. Admission is free with a non-perishable donation to the food bank.

At 2 p.m., Captain Thunderpants, the storytelling and singing space pirate, will be taking the stage and getting everyone ready for the arrival of our special guest from the North Pole. Santa will be arriving a little later in the event and will be handing out goodies. Bring your camera to capture the magic. Kids can also bring or write letters at the party to give to Santa during the event.

Also on that Saturday, enjoy the 10th annual Gnarly Little Christmas Craft Fair from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. This popular event features over 30 vendors ninie to 19 years selling stocking stuffers, painting, photography, jewelry, art-cards, baking and more. Admission is free. Please bring cash only for purchases from vendors.
