The Letz Sing Community Choir is ready to begin the winter term, starting in Courtenay on Monday.

Each week, singers from all around the Comox Valley come together to sing songs, chants and rounds in the oral tradition of call and response with choir director Tina Filippino.

The Letz Sing Choir is part of the UBUNTU Choir Network, an association of choirs that believes that everyone can sing, and that singing together is a way to create and strengthen community.

Letz Sing is a non-performing choir, a mixture of seasoned and first-time singers, who gather weekly in three locations, to experience singing in harmony within a welcoming and comfortable setting.

Each choir session includes a warm up for voice and body and learning new material in a sequential, step by step fashion. Over the 12-week term, singers gain confidence and become familiar with a growing repertoire of songs and rhythms.

You’re welcome to join Letz Sing in Courtenay on Mondays at 7:30 p.m. at the Lower Native Sons Hall, starting Feb. 7. The Comox choir sings on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. at the Lions Den, starting Feb. 8. Black Creek singers meet at Halbe Hall on Wednesday evenings at 7:30, starting on Feb. 9.

All voices are welcome.
