The Auxiliary for Comox Valley Healthcare Cottage Thrift Shop could use a few more items.
They’re down on donations, and they would like more of most items.
The shop, which is located at 2137 Comox Ave., behind the old St. Joseph’s hospital, raises funds through the sale of donated items to provide for patient care and comfort. It is completely staffed by volunteers. The thrift store is also reducing its environmental footprint and will not be using plastic bags as of Feb. 1.

Right now, they need clothing, including men’s and children’s, toys, bedding shoes and boots, dishes and kitchenware, softcover books, CDs and DVDs or general household items.
They cannot take large appliances or furniture. Items should be in good enough condition to be resold.
The best times for dropping off items are Mondays and Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Wednesdays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Anyone needing more information should contact the thrift shop at 250-331-8655.
