Comox Community Centre expands hours

The Comox Community Centre restarted June 22 with its Phase 1 plan open Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. – 2:45 p.m. Customer response was amazing with Fitness Studio time slots often filling to 100 oer cent capacity. The first phase was deliberately limited so staff could test and refine COVID-19 protocols.

The Community Centre entered the next phase of its restart Aug. 4, opening Mondays to Thursdays with added Fitness Studio registered time slots at 3 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m., and Fridays at 3 p.m. All time slots are 75 minutes with 15 minutes scheduled for cleaning between sessions.

The full Fitness Studio schedule:

• Monday to Thursday: 7-8:15 a.m., 8:30-9:45 am, 10-11:15 am, noon-1:15 pm, 1:30-2:45 pm, 3-4:15 pm, 4:30-5:45 pm and 6-7:15 pm.

• Friday: 7-8:15 am, 8:30-9:45 am, 10-11:15 am, noon-1:15 pm, 1:30-2:45 pm and 3-4:15 pm.

The Community Centre has tentative plans to expand operating hours further to include evenings and weekends starting Sept. 8, pending continued good news about the province’s battle with the COVID-19 pandemic. More information at a later date.
