Local songwriter Andrew Clements aka “Pranatricks” is returning with a second album titled “Elements of”
The album can now be heard in its entirety. It is a significant departure stylistically from his debut album Cherished, which garnered the artist attention throughout the Canadian Indie Folk scene and beyond.
Similar to his first album, many of the songs are snap shots of the artist’s experience from another time. Digging into several hard drives and revamping ideas conceived and collected over the past 15 years, Pranatricks applies a current formula for extracting and reworking the ideas, ultimately creating a meandering sonic landscape into the unknown.
Much like gazing through a window into the night sky, the light from stars reflected upon us is representative of a cosmic timeline that weaves past and present realities, while creating a sense of vast possibilities.
They explore lustful desire while offering comfort in companionship, they uncover elements of truth that may be buried and they are written to help awaken something inside the listener that will cause pause and consideration, all while steering them toward deeper existential philosophical questions.
In a recent interview when asked how he is planning on growing his fan base and sharing his music with the world? He answered; The message is “welcome, and thanks for stopping by, stick around because there is lots more coming.”
Pranatricks is an artist, multi-instrumentalist, and indie singer-songwriter currently based in the Comox Valley.
His debut album Cherished, released in January of 2023 garnered several accolades including 11 weeks of charting on Earshot including significant appearances on the National Top 50 and #1 at CJSF 90.1fm the week of May 2nd. The music blog Indie Boulevard named ‘Cherished’, Best Album of 2022.
Having been active in the Canadian independent music scene since 2006 he continually shapes his outward expression through simple songwriting and instrumentation. In 2008 his band Fur Bearing Animals, an electro funk duo, released a ‘Self-Titled EP’ that sold over 1500 units and charted extensively on Earshot. The title track Ivy Harvey Shoes has over 100K streams worldwide and was featured on Departures, a Canadian Travel TV Show.
