The inaugural event last year saw approximately 500 people through the doors of the Florence Filberg Centre (many of them dressed as their favourite characters from film, gaming, comics, and anime) to enjoy a myriad of activities over the two days of the convention, ranging from a geeky-themed vendor market (which is free for the public to access) as well as a retro gaming area replete with over 30 gaming systems, a board game lending library, video and board game tournaments, a costume contest, guests, panels, workshops, Star Wars yoga, as well as an all-ages dance party in the evening.

In support of the Boys and Girls Club of Central Vancouver Island, CVGS commits that 10 per cent of all CoVaCON ticket sales will be donated to the local chapter.

Last year’s donation of $800 was placed against the purchase of a KETSO Brainstorming Kit for the Boys and Girls TEN Club and this year, they hope to Increase that number.

The Comox Valley Geek Society is a local not-for-profit group that looks to provide and promote safe and welcoming venues, activities, and events for members of the society and public to engage in gaming, cosplay, and technically creative related activities.

Ticket prices are $20 per day for adults, $15 for students, and free for children 11 and under.

Weekend passes are also available for $30 (adults) and $20 for students.

CVGS members receive discounted rates.
