CVCDA receives Sunshine Coach

The Children’s Charity has given a Sunshine Coach to the Comox Valley Child Development Association (CVCDA).

The Children’s Charity has given a Sunshine Coach to the Comox Valley Child Development Association (CVCDA).

Variety provided funding for half of the coach while the CVCDA paid the other half through local fundraising and donations. A Sunshine Coach is a specially equipped van that transports children who have special needs to places of recreation, education and therapy.

The Comox Valley Child Development Association is a non-profit society that has served children who need extra support for more than 36 years.

This is the first Sunshine Coach for the CVCDA.

The coach will be used as part of its community integration and autism program which helps children access inclusive events in the community like bowling, swimming and other activities.

The organization helps children from communities such as Denman Island, Hornby Island and Cumberland; therefore the coach will be a big help in reaching all areas.
