Eaglecam in Courtenay park will have to wait a while longer

The Hornby Eagle Group Projects Society's eagle nest webcam in Simms Park will not be in place for the 2012 breeding season.

The Hornby Eagle Group Projects Society's (HEGPS) proposed eagle nest webcam in Simms Millennium Park will not be in place for the 2012 breeding season. The cam installation, for which HEGPS received approval from the City of Courtenay in December, has been put on hold. The eagles’ early presence in the area, along with an extremely tight timeframe, the difficult logistics due to the site, and weather delays, all contributed to the decision to suspend the project.HEGPS thanks the City of Courtenay and the people and businesses in the local community for their enthusiasm and support. The Society looks forward to bringing a webcam to the Comox Valley in the future. The HEGPS website (www.hornbyeagles.com) and interactive forum (www.ournaturezone.com), as well as Facebook page will carry any news of the Courtenay Eagle Cam as well as other Society projects. The OurNatureZone forum features discussions about many wildlife issues, observations and photos from Hornby Island, and other popular topics.   Direct any inquiries to pr@hornbyeagles.com.— Hornby Eagle Group Projects Society
