LINC turkeys were free

The weather outside can be frightful, but things inside at Courtenay Recreation’s The LINC Youth Centre are definitely delightful.

The weather outside can be frightful, but things inside at Courtenay Recreation’s The LINC Youth Centre are definitely delightful.

Thanks to the generosity of Coastal Community Credit Union (Comox Branch), Home Depot, City of Courtenay employees, Play n’ Trade, One Thirty Three, Thrifty Foods, Glacier Kings, and Codes Country Lanes, The LINC was host to more than 65 youth for its fourth annual Free Turkey Dinner and Christmas Party.

It was a great event with a live DJ, great food, prizes, games and so much fun. The LINC continues to bring on the fun with a variety of registered recreation programs, too.

Ring in the new year by trying something new like Capoeira (a Brazilian martial art), or a variety of yoga classes.

Or take advantage of free demo recreation classes for youth, as the LINC Youth Centre celebrates Family Literacy Week Jan. 25 to 29 with its second annual Youth Learn to Move week.

For more information, call the Lewis Centre at 250-338-5371 or The LINC Youth Centre at 250-334-8138.
