YOU CAN HELP the Care-A-Van by voting through the Aviva Community Fund.

There are hundreds of non-profit organizations at work for your country and other countries around the world.

Some are drilling wells, some are administering life-saving vaccines, and some food. Others are picking up needles in our parks and back yards, making sandwiches, building playgrounds, helping seniors with mobility, and talking our teens off ledges.

What about the organizations in our own community? The ones who are making your community shine brighter.

The Comox Bay Care Society sends out the Care-A-Van three times a week to homeless people of the Comox Valley.

There are a large handful of volunteers who help this marginalized population. They look in their ears, take their temperature, blood pressure, and they may even do some stitches or clean a wound.

The volunteers even do something that most people have a hard time doing; listening. Listening to their difficulties, their fears and desire for a changed life.

Aviva Community Fund is sponsoring a community initiative.

You may not be comfortable taking a stranger’s temperature, but you may be comfortable getting on your computer, finding the Aviva website and voting for the Care-A-Van.

If 4,000 votes are registered by Ocxt. 14, the Care-A-Van moves onto the next round in its search to fund its dentistry program in a way that would create real-life, long-lasting change amidst our homeless community.

Follow this link at www.avivacommunityfund.org/ideas/acf13852 and vote every day. The ACF code is important, so if you find yourself on the AVIVA website, punch in the 13852 code.

By finding the Comox Bay Care Society on Facebook, you will find a vote box on the home page.
