Formed in October of 1991, this year marks 25 years for the Students’ Union at North Island College.
To celebrate, North Island Students’ Union (NISU) is increasing its endowment fund by $25,000.
NISU chairperson Mary Rickinson announced the increase at the birthday celebration held at the Comox Valley campus on Monday Oct. 31.
The fund was initially formed in 2009 when NISU gifted $10,000 and was matched $5,000 by NIC. The endowment provides annual awards to students at NIC and this large new gift will greatly impact the number of students who will benefit from the annual awards provided by this endowment fund.
