Hundreds of children and parents came out to play at Arden Elementary School on Thursday afternoon.

The school held a fundraising penny carnival, complete with blow-up castles, games, food, a 50/50 draw and even a small silent auction.

The Courtenay Fire Department was on hand, letting the kids see the inside of a fire truck, and giving the kids a thrill with the occasional siren and horn.

A dunk tank was a big hit, with the line-up for volunteer targets nearly as long as the line-up for dunkers.
