This year marks the 100th anniversary of the red poppy as a symbol of remembrance.

Wearing a poppy pin honours our country’s veterans past and present – and these small poppies also make a big, lasting impact in people’s lives. Funds raised from the Legion’s annual poppy campaign support important veteran support services and worthy causes at the local level. This includes assistance for veterans of all ages who are in distress and needing support, including those who are homeless or facing homelessness, connecting them with medical support, assistive devices, and other emergency assistance.

As we reflect on the sacrifices of those who came before us, through our actions and donations large and small we can all contribute to the spirit of kindness, caring, and goodwill in our community today, in hopes of a more peaceful future for all.
