Shellfish Fest needs food vendors

The BC Shellfish Festival is putting the call out for food vendors for festival day June 18 at Comox Marina Park.

This year’s event, which runs from noon to 10 p.m., is expected to

draw between 3,000 to 4,000 visitors throughout the day.

There will be five cooking demos, the BC Oyster Shucking Championship, the BCSF Chowder Challenge, a beer (Phillips Brewery)/wine (Hester Creek Winery) garden, lots of seafood and live music by Luke Blu Guthrie, Skagway and Blackberry Wood.

The B.C. Shellfish Growers' Association is looking for self-contained vendors with their own insurance and permits. The deadline to apply is April 15.

For more information and to download a vendor application, go to www.bcshellfishfestival.ca/BCSF/Vendor_Application_Package.html .
