Telethon time is upon us again.

On Sunday, Nov. 5, the 42nd Annual Children’s Telethon will take place at the Sid Williams Theatre from noon to 8 p.m.

All proceeds support local children and their families. One of the highlights each year at the telethon is the drawing for the winner of the Deluxe Raffle Basket.

The basket contains a lot of items, over $3,000 worth of goods and services, that come in all shapes and sizes.

This year’s basket includes gift certificates for local dining, spa and salon treatments, and great shopping throughout the Valley.

There is a handmade quilt, some children’s toys, handcrafted art cards, an antique crate and of course, a beautiful basket. These are just a few of the items and it is winner take all.

For more than 10 years, Deb Etherington has wrapped the Comox Valley Child Development Association Deluxe Raffle Basket as a contribution to the Annual Children’s Telethon.

With the support of her previous employer, Quality Foods, and now with the support of her employer, 5th Street Florist, Deb has worked her wrapping magic. This is no easy feat. Thanks to Deb, all of these items are tied up with one beautiful bow.

Tickets are just $2 each or three for $5.

Also to be raffled off is a trip for two to anywhere WestJet flies.

Tickets for this prize are just $10 each – a small price to pay for a dream vacation.

Tickets for both raffles will be available at the Sid Williams Theatre during the live broadcast of the Telethon Sunday. Drop in to the Sid Williams Theatre Sunday, buy some raffle tickets, put a bid in on one, or two, or five of the silent auction items, and enjoy some of the live entertainment.
