Television hostess Donna Balzer guest speaker at next Comox Valley Horticultural Society meeting

The Comox Valley Horticultural Society welcomes Donna Balzer as the guest speaker at the Monday, March 18 meeting in the conference hall at the Florence Filberg Centre, 411 Anderton Avenue, Courtenay.

Donna will be speaking on Growing Under Cover: from Grow Bags to Greenhouse, extend your harvest this season.

HGTV host Donna Balzer brings garden inspiration and practical insider information to get you growing food faster under cover and in your greenhouse this season. Eating fresh food from your garden is great for you and on Vancouver Island, it is a real possibility. Donna grows watermelons in summer, cauliflower in fall and lemons year-round by growing under cover. Join in the fun and learn to stretch your garden growing season.

Balzer has two greenhouses and a big vegetable garden on her double lot in Qualicum Beach. She is an award-winning media personality and garden consultant with a personal passion for food.

Horticulturist, speaker, and author, Donna has a degree in agriculture with a specialty in horticulture. She has a YouTube channel, three seasons as host of the Internationally broadcast Bugs & Blooms on HGTV, and appears frequently on CBC radio in Canada.
