The Comox Valley Community Foundation (CVCF) will be hosting the Home Sweet Home Gala, together with Odlum Brown as presenting sponsor, on the evening of Saturday, Oct. 3, beginning at 6 p.m.

CVCF’s annual gala has been a much-anticipated event in our community for many years, enhancing the CVCF’s profile and mission as well as raising much-needed funds in order that CVCF can continue its important work.

“Given the COVID-19 pandemic, we have had to re-imagine the annual gala,” said Matt Beckett, CVCF’s president. “We have put together a stress-free and elegant evening that you can enjoy in the comfort of your own home, abiding by COVID-19 health and safety protocols, all the while supporting the Foundation. We promise an evening of community, collaboration and heartfelt stories, and ongoing progress towards ensuring none of our neighbours in this great community are left behind.”

The Home Sweet Home Gala will take place in people’s homes, with a maximum of six at each home, comprising members of the household and immediate social bubble. During the afternoon, an “event box” will be delivered to each home and will include wine, all food with serving/reheating instructions, linens, tableware and glasses, cutlery and even flowers for the table.

The gala program will be broadcast digitally, with videos, speakers, entertainment, and an auction. Afterward, hosts and their guests will continue to enjoy each other’s company in the comfort of their homes. The “event box,” complete with dirty dishes, will be picked up later that evening or the next morning.

Tickets are $800 per home and are available now at: https://cvcfoundation.org/gala-2/.
