VinoSpa Noble Skincare presents ‘VinoSpa Speaks Out’ on Nov. 1, from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., at 40 Knots Winery.

The event will discuss the challenges faced by veterans, and their families, encounter as they transition back to civilian life and their communities after their service.

Though resources may currently be available, many veterans across Canadian communities are still grappling with mental and physical illnesses, sometimes resulting in homelessness.

Over 90 percent of military and first responders suffer from some form of post-traumatic stress disorder at one point in their lives.

Decorated Sgt. Tim Turner will share his personal experiences, having served in the Canadian Army since 1985 and participated in numerous peacekeeping missions in Cyprus and Croatia, as well as being deployed in Afghanistan, the Middle East, and West Africa.

The event will also feature a panel of specialists, including RCMP Cpl. Victoria Cliffe and Canadian military spouse Karen Turner. They will discuss available resources and ways the community can support veterans, as well as answer questions from attendees.
