Alchemy studio open again

The Art Alchemy studio/gallery is once again opening its doors to the public for another evening of arts, culture and fun.

The Art Alchemy studio/gallery is once again opening its doors to the public for another evening of arts, culture and fun.

June 8 will be the opening night for the second annual Square Foot show featuring new works by 30 diverse and accomplished artists. Among the 30 participating artists you will find works by alchemists Helen Utsal, Jennifer Weber, Guillermo Mier, Lucy Schappy and Stacey Wright as well as artists from the West Coast Artists' collective including Lisa Kirk, Corre Alice, Patti Didiomete and Martha Jablonski Jones.

The walls will be full of colour, hundreds of paintings will be hung. It will be a visual treat extraordinaire! All works will be a foot square and all will be priced at the low, once-per-year price of $200.

For those of you who attended last year’s inaugural Square Foot Show at the Purple Onion, we don’t have to tell you how much fun this will be.

The atmosphere at Art Alchemy has received high praise from previous event attendees, comparing it to studio/ galleries in the city; many people felt like they had been transported to Vancouver or Los Angeles.

The evening will feature live local music to set the tone as well as a cash wine/ beer bar.

Art Alchemy is located above United Carpet at 362 10th St. in Courtenay (stairs-only access). Check www.artalchemy.ca for more information.

The opening will begin at 7 and run until 10.
