The Comox Valley Youth Music Centre is extremely pleased to announce that Robert Creech is on the Island and will be attending the Centre’s annual general meeting Thursday, Feb 12.
Creech was instrumental in the creation of CYMC in 1967, when he was president of the Junior Symphony of Vancouver.
After looking into various locations including the Okanagan, the Kootenays and the Fraser Valley, the Comox Valley was chosen for its “natural beauty…not blighted by pollution”.
Creech presently heads his own music school in Ireland.
The meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the board room above the Art Gallery, 580 Duncan Ave., Courtenay.
