Courtenay’s Evergreen Club hosting Rock and Roll Revival Concert

The Evergreen Club presents a Rock and Roll Revival Sunday, May 26.

Anyone who loves the music of the 1950s and the ’60s is in for a special treat on Sunday, May 26, as the Evergreen Club presents a Rock and Roll Revival.

The show, hosted and MCed by Steve Rossner from the Eagle will begin at 2 p.m. in the upper Florence Filberg Centre’s Conference Hall (411 Anderson Ave.).

The Singing Sistas will be returning to entertain the audience with doo-wop and Motown. The group features the fine vocals and harmonies of Heather Sprout, Heather Rapin, Maureen Faust, June Munro and Holly Davidson. They will be accompanied by Kelly Thomas, a well-known musician in the valley.

Greg DeSchutter, a well-known singer and entertainer who has appeared in a number of shows in the community, will be singing a selection from his favourite artists including Buddy Holly, Neil Diamond, Bobby Darin and Elvis.

Tickets are retro-priced as well! Only $1o and can be purchased at The Florence Filberg Centre office at 411 Anderson Ave. in Courtenay during business hours. If not sold out, tickets will also be available at the door. There will be a concession and a 50/50 draw. An area will be put aside for those who wish to get up and boogie. All proceeds will go to support the non-profit Evergreen Club and their programs for adults 55+.
