Explore the outdoors in new book

Do you ever sit back and look out at the mountains think about their history; who has wandered through their valleys, nooks and peaks?

Do you ever sit back and look out at the mountains think about their history; who has wandered through their valleys, nooks and peaks?

Now you no longer have to wonder as author Lindsay Elms has come out with a narrative entitled Above The Bush, which covers a century of climbing and exploring on Vancouver Island from 1912 to 2012.

Whether a hiker, climber or an armchair mountaineer, Above The Bush will make a great addition to any collection as there are many stories which will feed the reader's imagination and interest in the hills and mountains that form the interior of Vancouver Island.

Elms does an excellent job of taking his extensive knowledge of climbing these same peaks and combines it with stories from climbers past and present to make an inspiring read.

If you want to take yourself out into the mountains of Strathcona Provincial Park, share in the journeys of early mountaineers, or get some great history of early exploration on Vancouver island, this is a great read.

Above The Bush is for sale at Blue Heron Books, The Laughing Oyster and Valhalla Pure – Courtenay.
