TED OUTERBRIDGE defies gravity.

Ted and Marion Outerbridge have mystified and amazed their audiences with their sensational magic shows all over the world.

In addition to their levitation act, the Outerbridges present several other “how’d they do that?” moments with innovative and amazing disappearing acts, fantasy elements and other illusions.

They will combine all this with dance, music and theatre at the Sid Williams Theatre in Courtenay on March 17.

One of the highlights of The Time Capsule Tour is the prediction by Outerbridge of what the audience will say should be locked inside the steel time capsule, currently displayed in the Sid Williams Theatre window.

On the night of the performance, randomly selected audience members will decide what they would put in the capsule. When it’s opened, the prediction in the capsule will match what the audience said.

Outerbridge has been involved in magic since he became fascinated at the age of seven.

“By 12, I was Magic Ted doing birthday shows,” he recalls.

Performing professionally since 1982, Ted Outerbridge has been hailed by critics as “the most successful professional magician in Canada” and “a champion of magic” offering a magnificent family-oriented experience.

The Barrie Advance says, “visually spectacular” and the Montreal Gazette calls him “the most successful professional magician in Canada.”

Now in his 40s, he and Marion — his business partner and wife, who is a very accomplished performer in her own right — have engaged audiences everywhere in Canada with excellent reviews, earning the Outerbridges the title of 2010 Touring Artist of the Year from the BC Touring Council.

Outerbridge performs March 17 at 7:30 p.m. at the Sid Williams Theatre in Courtenay.

Tickets are $35/regular, $30/members and $10/children, sold either at the Sid (250-338-2430) or online at www.sidwilliamstheatre.com.
