JUST IN TIME'S Vocal Minority ensemble needs new voices — maybe yours.

Do you love to perform, rise to a challenge, and sing with a dedicated and supportive team?

Auditions for the 2012-13 season of the Just in Time Vocal Jazz Choirs' Jazzy Jems (SSAA) and Vocal Minority (SATB) ensembles will be held June 13. Auditions will happen from 7 to 9 p.m. at Highland Secondary School in the music room.

The groups are directed by Wendy Nixon Stothert and accompanied by Sean Mooney. All current singers must re-audition every year and new voices are welcome!

Candidates should have some music reading ability, some performance experience and a high level of commitment to excellence. Come prepared to do a written music reading evaluation, learn a new short piece together and sing your part in a quartet, and perform a two- to three-minute a cappella solo in jazz, pop, soul or folk style that best demonstrates your range and what you are capable of technically and musically.

This is an open audition, meaning everyone is together in the same room for the duration of the audition and feedback will be provided to singers. Just in Time also has a non-auditioned choir, the Unplugged Group, that is open to singers of all levels, for which registration begins in late August.
