He received the BC Country Music Association’s “Entertainer of the Year” award for four consecutive years and was later inducted into the BCCMA’s Hall of Fame. He received the incredibly high honour of being a recipient of the “Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers” for his lifetime of volunteer work and fundraising efforts, including tours of various Canadian Peacekeeping bases in Afghanistan, Dubai, and the North Pole.

Guests are encouraged to bring non-perishable donations for the Comox Valley Food Bank as well. There will be a collection box at the door.

St. George’s raises funds through a variety of events during the year to benefit local non-profits. In 2022, the church donated more than $20,000 to community groups, including Habitat for Humanity, LUSH, the Transition Society, and many others.

St. George’s United Church is located at 505 6th Street, in Courtenay.
