Des Larson is a true entertainer, who will be giving an evening performance in support of YANA as featured guest of the 1st Tuesday Fundraisers Oct. 4 at the Mex Pub.
Larson has won some impressive prize money at various B.C. talent competitions, including the 2011 PNE Star Showdown, and is receiving well-deserved accolades for his new release, Tofino.
Larson is a highly skilled guitarist with a natural showmanship that engages any audience, combining small town charm with an energetic and polished urban appeal. Larson creates an instant groove that combines a reggae beat energy with the lyrical style of songwriters like Jack Johnson and John Mayer. With his straight-to-the-heart vocals, soulful falsetto, mesmerizing guitar work and promising future, it’s hard not to be a Des Larson fan.
Admission for the evening is a cash donation at the door, which will support YANA, a local charity that has helped many families through challenging times. YANA programs assist families with travel and accommodation costs when children need medical treatments that are not available locally.
Those who donate more than $15 can choose a thank you CD available at the door, which have been donated by other local artists.
The evening is sponsored by the Mex Pub and starts at 7:30 p.m. with an opening set by hosts Judy and Bruce Wing and the featured music of Des Larson to follow.
