Renowned Comox Valley singer/songwriter, artist, poet and author Mary Murphy has created a series of instructional/educational videos aimed at helping writers.
Her ‘Gift Of Words’ series covers various issues writers may come across. On April 24, Murphy launches her seventh episode - ‘Emotional connection through music.’ Using six different musical pieces, participants will emotionally connect OR not connect to each.
“Not connecting will actually afford you a deep dive into characters/scenes you might not otherwise move toward,” said Murphy. “This session will, if done with focus, award you many story ideas.”

Previous sessions include an episode helping writers get past the procrastination stage (released March 13), Part 1 of ‘Character Development’ March 20) and ‘Character Development, Part 2’ launched on March 27. A session on editing, launched on April 3; All About You launched on April 10, and ‘All About You!’ launched on April 17.
