Come to the Mex Pub on Dec. 6 for a winter concert fundraiser for the Comox Valley Food Bank. The featured performers are Lainie Laughlin, Scott Lyle, Viv and Steve Ruskin (Noteworthy Music) Blaine Dunaway, and Steve Giddings. Admission is by donation, with all cash donations going to the charity.
The concert will be a collaboration of winter-themed content sure to please with a wonderful blend of personalities, musical styles, harmonies, and instrumentation.
Expect to hear new versions of old favourites as well as original compositions from the contemplative to the ridiculous. Come on out and meet the band, which features Lainie Laughlin (vocals and guitar), Scott Lyle (vocals, guitar, bass), Viv Ruskin (vocals, guitar), Steve Ruskin (keyboard), Blaine Dunaway (violin), and Steve Giddings (percussion).
The food bank appreciates cash donations as well as food donations throughout the year, however cash donations are especially helpful in this season of high demand. Being able to make bulk food purchases ensures continuity for nutrition and variety in the food hampers that are distributed to local families in need.
The Comox Valley Food Bank is located on #1-1491 McPhee Ave., Courtenay and is open Monday to Wednesday 9:30 a.m. to noon and Fridays, 9:30-11 a.m. Food is distributed Thursdays between 9:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Join hosts Judy and Bruce Wing for this memorable community event, sponsored by the Mex Pub.
