Squamish, B.C. artist Nikki Hainstock is hosting a mixed media art show at the Merville Hall (1245 Fenwick Road, Merville) on Sunday, Aug. 15, from 2-8 p.m.
The show, entitled The Shaman’s Eye, features paintings that reflect Hainstock’s journeys as a shaman
This collection is a series of new and renewed work that explores my journey as a shaman and a mother over the last 15-20 years,” Hainstock said in a press release. “I have spent the last months finishing and starting new work and want to share these stories in this post/during COVID world.
“It is my hope that the stories that caused their creation can become new with each viewer and each viewing. My interest in art these days is in leaning towards what creates and governs narrative and in creating something that can, in this way, stay alive and open, a desire I have for every living being.”
