BackPorch Banjo is featured at the Bowser Legion this Saturday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. You can also catch the band entertaining at the Courtenay Fish and Game annual outdoor show Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m.

Bring the family and enjoy all the activities! Ready for a festival-packed summer, BackPorch Banjo features a fresh, harmony-rich sound featuring Deep Bay fiddler/vocalist Ted Granger and Qualicum’s Linda Thorburn on banjo, as well as locals Bob Slater on guitar, banjo and vocals, and Kazimea Sokil on mandolin, banjo and vocals.

The band’s repertoire ranges from hard-driving bluegrass to foot-stomping old time with occasional ballads and original songs in the mix.

Look for the band at the Lighthouse Bluegrass Festival in Qualicum Bay from June 29 to July 1.
